So a few Saturdays back Starbat and I were able to slip off to MegaCon in Orlando! It was bit of a rocky start of queueing for parking, getting inside, prop checks, bag checks, ticket checks, and a last hurdle of card activation, but finally we were in. We joined the costumed crowds as the Red Hood and Arsenal, and became part of a grand collection of nerds.
This was only my second convention, and in pretty much every way it was bigger. Instead of a Friday it was a Saturday, which seems to be the time the big names of actors, writers, artists, and cosplayers show up. A lot more events and people and stalls and meetups and whatnot. Which makes sense because how many of us can show up on a weekday to get our geek on? It was a bit overwhelming just how much was going on, everywhere we turned there was something else crazy going on that we needed to see. So here's a few bits and pieces of what was out there (please forgive some of the out-of-focus shots).

Two Twi'leks and a Jawa walk into a convention |

A Jawa with their very own tiny airspeeder |
Merman Ariel, Ursula, and Eric of Little Mermaid, and also a miniature Thor walking by |
A great Kida from Atlantis: The Lost Empire, a more obscure though awesome Disney princess |
I'm not sure why Captain Jack Sparrow is wearing a lit-up hoopskirt but it's magic |
Reimagining Star Wars royalty as Jedi |
And we've got some of the Guardians of the Galaxy, with Gamora, Yondu, Nebula, and Rocket |
Starbat in danger of being exterminated by Daleks |
