Dinotopian Cocktails


The Skybax

Flying high among the clouds, some of the most daring humans of Dinotopia accomplish feats of endurance and skill thanks to their bond with their Skybax companions. In Canyon City one might imagine the cadets celebrating their successes with a cocktail like this. The citrus, bitters, and burn of the ingredients are complemented with the sweetness of the whipped cream. With such a dreamy concoction, the sky is no longer the limit.

Ingredients:
1.5oz tequila
1oz blue curacao
0.25-0.5oz sambuca
Whipped cream



Longevus Elixir

Dinotopians enjoy lengthened life due to their daily imbibement of the herb Arctium longevus. Although usually drunk as a tea, newly shipwrecked adventurers may find some comfort in combining some of their treasured rum stores with a few Dinotopian ingredients. Careful though, the elixir is quite strong for those without the constitution of a stegosaurus.

Ingredients:
1.5oz spiced rum
1.5oz applejack
0.5oz goldschlaeger or similar cinnamon liquor
0.5oz Fernet branca
0.5oz lime juice
3oz ginger beer
1 cherry



Polongo River Fizz


With its stunning waterfalls and meandering current, the Polongo River is a source of life and a power to respected in the island continent of Dinotopia. To celebrate its majesty, a harborside inn of Sauropolis created a drink with the tropical fruits of the Rainy Basin, the color of a Dolphin Bay sunset, and the froth of the famous waterfalls. Best enjoyed while drifting along without a care in the world.

Ingredients:
1/2 an egg white
3oz cranberry juice
1oz guava juice
2oz vodka

Instructions:
As ever when working with egg white, the key is to shake, shake again, and shake some more for good measure. No one wants chunky, stringy egg bits in their drink, trust me. I generally shake the egg white on its own first, then I add a couple ice cubes and shake it again, then I add the other ingredients in and shake it one more time to really froth it up.


The Sunstone
With the brilliant lights of miraculous sunstones, Dinotopians have been able to create vast civilizations and protect themselves from raiding carnivores. In a recent tale, doom was averted when a brave party recovered new sunstones from the World Beneath. When those in Waterfall City were celebrating their survival, a new cocktail was invented to embody the beauty and glow of these ancient relics.

4-5oz elderflower lemonade
1oz vodka
0.5-1oz triple sec
Sugar rim (rose sugar)

How to make rebel pilot leg flares

Another basic part of the Iden Versio costume or any other rebel pilot are the leg flares and flare holder. It's the gray/olive band holding 8 silver "flares" on the left leg of Rebellion pilots in New Hope , Empire Strikes Back , and Return of the Jedi . There's a great tutorial using olive nylon webbing by Gil Guemes aka JediXXL at Rebel Legion , but since I couldn't find suitable webbing I adapted this for using basic fabric instead. How to make the collar from the Stargate Anubis Guard

For those intent on becoming the Prime of Ra and adopting the appearance of ancient Egyptian gods to terrorize the populace, welcome to my step-by-step guide of becoming the Anubis guard in the Stargate film. Most of these elements are going to be made from EVA foam, so this simple collar-piece was a good introduction to cutting, detailing, shaping, and painting foam. References Materials -8mm EVA foam -E600 clear glue -Dark copper metallic spray paint -Plastidip -Turquoise acrylic paint Tools -Dremel tool with sanding attachment -Box cutter -Woodburner -Foam wedge for painting, paper towels 1.
