How to make the collar from the Stargate Anubis Guard

For those intent on becoming the Prime of Ra and adopting the appearance of ancient Egyptian gods to terrorize the populace, welcome to my step-by-step guide of becoming the Anubis guard in the Stargate film. Most of these elements are going to be made from EVA foam, so this simple collar-piece was a good introduction to cutting, detailing, shaping, and painting foam. References Materials -8mm EVA foam -E600 clear glue -Dark copper metallic spray paint -Plastidip -Turquoise acrylic paint Tools -Dremel tool with sanding attachment -Box cutter -Woodburner -Foam wedge for painting, paper towels 1. Gather the materials For this build, you're going to need a thinner EVA foam most easily purchased these days from craft stores. I chose a 8mm thickness, picking up a roll from a craft store for about $20. For this project, I needed about a third of the 24in x 60in roll. For the paints, I chose a dark copper metallic spray paint from Rustoleum. For the Horus guards

How to make a Stargate Atlantis personal shield device

For the Stargate expedition to the Pegasus galaxy, every little bit of Ancient technology helps. Well, once Dr. McKay gets a handle on his anxiety and learns how to use it properly. Here's how to make one the Ancient personal shield devices using budget materials and a little creativity. This version is slightly larger scale then the one in the series out of convenience. For the LED light I wanted to use a small , and since those battery-powered puck lights are usually 3inch in diameter or more I scaled this up slightly so it would fit. Below for some screen references for the device, some from YourProps.com and some from Deviant Art user Euderian who made their own version. References Materials -Green plastic flexible binder -Floral wire (variety of widths) -"Selfie" light with clip -Fabric paint -Silver metallic marker Tools -Scissors -Hot glue gun -Dremel with cutting attachment (depending on light design) 1. Gather the materials

Alright everybody, buckle up for part two of my completely unnecessary and unwanted rundown of my favorite episodes of Stargate: Atlantis! Sateda (s3e4) This is basically Momoa's audition for Conan. And maybe Game of Thrones. Summary: After gallivanting about with the Atlantean expedition for a while, Ronon is unexpectedly recaptured by the Wraith and forced into a death match with a Wraith hive. Sheppard and Atlantis try desperately to find him before time is up and the rematch ends. Overall Relevance: No relevance in terms of the overarching plot, but this was a major episode in the evolution of Ronon's character. He does a good job juggling the pathos of flashbacks to his previous life and the destruction of his world with a Rambo-style cat-and-mouse fight against seemingly insurmountable odds. It's pretty awesome to watch. The Real World (s3e6)  You know, Weir gets a lot of shit but I think she's awesome. Summary: Dr. Weir "wakes up&q
